On Friday, 25 July 2025, the Louw & Coetzee team had the privilege of spending a truly unforgettable day with the learners and staff of Fisantekraal Primary School in Fisantekraal, in honour of Nelson Mandela International Day. Driven by Madiba's call to action - "It is in your hands to make a better world for all who live in it" - we took hands as a team and dedicated our time, energy, and resources to make a small but meaningful difference in a community close to our hearts.
Our Mandela Day outreach included the donation of 1,200 food parcels, each containing soup mix and macaroni-enough to feed a family of four. As a special treat, we also gave each child a small sweet packet
These were distributed to the school to ensure that families in the wider Fisantekraal community would benefit - offering not just a warm meal, but also the message that they are seen, valued, and supported.
On arrival at Fisantekraal Primary, we were welcomed by the vibrant energy of learners already in class. Instead of gathering in one large space, our team moved from classroom to classroom - allowing for more personal engagement with each group of learners.
In every class, we introduced ourselves and spent a few minutes connecting with the children. What began as a simple greeting quickly turned into bursts of excitement as music played and spontaneous dancing filled the rooms. Laughter echoed through the corridors as our team and the learners shared these fun, light-hearted moments together. We handed out sweet packets to each child - a small gesture that sparked big smiles. But just as important as the sweets were the motivational talks shared by our team members. Each talk carried a message of hope, encouragement, and belief in the learners' potential. We spoke about dreaming big, working hard, and knowing that their current circumstances do not define their future.
It was a morning filled with connection, positivity, and inspiration - a reminder that even
short interactions can have a lasting impact. The energy was infectious as the children embraced the moment. For many of our team members, it was a deeply emotional and humbling experience.
Fisantekraal is a community we've worked with before, and we've seen first-hand the potential and spirit that lives in this area. Mandela Day gave us the opportunity to once again connect with the youth - future leaders who need only encouragement, opportunity, and support to thrive. This initiative was not just a once-off gesture, but part of our broader commitment to giving back in a way that is personal, meaningful, and community-focused.
We are grateful to the staff of Fisantekraal Primary, who welcomed us so warmly and work tirelessly every day to provide care, education, and hope to their learners. To our Louw & Coetzee team: thank you for showing up with heart, hands, and open minds. Each of you played a role in creating a memory that we know will stay with both the children and ourselves for a long time.
"There can be no greater gift than that of giving one's time and energy to help others without expecting anything in return." - Nelson Mandela
Together, we honoured Mandela's legacy in the best way we know how: through kindness, unity, and action. We look forward to continuing this journey of upliftment and impact in the months and years to come.
